Cruise son ‘in Red Dawn remake’

Tom Cruise’s son Connor is set to star in a remake of the 1984 action war drama Red Dawn, according to reports.

The 14-year-old will play Daryl, the youngest in the group of high school students who wage war against foreign invaders, the Hollywood Reporter said.

The original film helped launch the Hollywood careers of its stars Patrick Swayze and Charlie Sheen.

Filming is due to begin in Detroit next month and is scheduled to be released in September 2010.
